High Definition Maps Research Center (HDMRC) from Taiwan has joined the Autoware Foundation.

HDMRC stated that they promote the process of HP maps generation and standard assessment in Taiwan. They also focus on HD map formats, autonomous vehicle simulation, dynamic HD maps integrated development of self-driving vehicle communication systems, navigation safety for autonomous vehicles, and other HD maps / autonomous vehicle-related matters.

HDMRC also actively promotes cooperation between industry, government and academia to develop the applications of HD maps and autonomous driving.

HDMRC has extensive experience in HD maps, and they initially committed to attending and contributing to the following Autoware working groups:

• Localization & Mapping WG
• Operational Design Domain (ODD) WG
• Simulation WG
