ARM

Arm is highly invested in the automotive industry and we work together with the ecosystem (e.g., through SOAFEE) with concepts such as cloud-native and the software-defined vehicle. In the AWF, work is mainly done through the Open AD Kit WG, where the goal is to transform Autoware to become software-defined.

Value Proposition

Automation, electrification and in-vehicle user experience (UX) are driving requirements for higher computing power across the automotive industry. This computing power must respect the constraints of power consumption, heat dissipation, and packaging space and allow fast and flexible development while putting functional safety first.

Arm and our world-leading partner ecosystem provide OEMs and the automotive industry with the processor IP, tools, and software solutions for automated driving, software-defined cars, and unique in-vehicle experiences. (from https://www.arm.com/markets/automotive)

Technology Description

Arm technology is defining the future of computing. Our energy-efficient processor designs and software platforms have enabled advanced computing in more than 250 billion chips and our technologies securely power products from the sensor to the smartphone and the supercomputer. Together with 1,000+ technology partners, we are enabling artificial intelligence to work everywhere, and in cybersecurity, we are delivering the foundation for trust in the digital world – from chip to cloud. The future is being built on Arm. The Arm ecosystem is ready to tackle the challenge of the software-defined vehicle and is already gearing up to support the development of today’s vehicles and tomorrow’s upgrades. Arm’s family of Automotive CPUs, GPUs and ISPs offers the required performance alongside features to facilitate functional safety and virtualization, enabling workload isolation and a cloud-like experience for automotive software developers.
