NATIX, one of the largest players in the Internet of Cameras, has joined the Autoware Foundation as a Premium Member. With a global, crowd-sourced network of cameras and a strong focus on real-world data collection, NATIX brings a unique and highly relevant capability to the Autoware ecosystem.

As autonomous driving, robotics, and mapping technologies continue to evolve, access to diverse, large-scale, real-world data remains one of the most critical challenges in building reliable and production-ready systems. Traditional data collection methods are often expensive, limited in scale, and difficult to maintain across different geographies and conditions.

NATIX addresses this challenge through a fundamentally different approach by enabling continuous, distributed data collection through its global network of drivers and devices.

Today, NATIX operates one of the largest crowd-sourced camera networks in the world, with over 270,000 drivers contributing data and more than 250 million kilometers of roads covered. This network enables the capture of fresh, multi-camera, street-level data at scale, supporting a wide range of applications including autonomous driving, robotics, and map generation.

At the core of NATIX’s ecosystem are two key solutions:

Drive& is a mobile application that allows everyday drivers to contribute street-level data using their smartphones. By integrating computer vision capabilities and driver-assistance functionalities such as navigation and dashcam features, the platform enables continuous data collection while incentivizing user participation.

VX360 is a plug-and-play device designed for vehicles equipped with built-in surround camera systems. It allows vehicle owners to access, manage, and monetize their multi-camera data, transforming existing vehicle hardware into a powerful data collection platform.

Together, these solutions provide a scalable and cost-efficient pipeline for generating diverse, real-world datasets which is a critical requirement for training, testing, and validating autonomous systems.

By joining the Autoware Foundation, NATIX will contribute to advancing data-driven development workflows within the open-source autonomy ecosystem. Their experience in large-scale, real-world data collection is expected to support ongoing efforts to improve validation processes, expand dataset diversity, and accelerate the development of safe and reliable end-to-end autonomous driving systems.

We are pleased to welcome NATIX to the Autoware Foundation and look forward to collaborating on the next generation of data-driven, open, and scalable autonomous systems.
