Scaledrive.ai, a young startup working on AI-powered software that enables robots to understand context, unlocking commercial deployment at scale, has joined the Autoware Foundation! 🎉

The Scaledrive.ai team is focused on building a software stack for robots that enables deployment in environments with people and a significantly higher level of autonomy by adapting to changing environmental contexts and predicting human behavior. The core technology is based on foundational models (genAI) for human behavior prediction and context reasoning. The Scaledrive.ai team started their physical deployments and has already scheduled customer pilots for 2025.

The Scaledrive.ai team has complementary technologies to help Autoware advance safe autonomous driving. They strive to be a meaningful contributor to the open source community through their extensive research, commercial experience, and innovative technology. In return, they hope to get support from the Autoware community in integrating their technology, physically launching products, and collaborating with the broad Autoware ecosystem on research projects and commercial deployments.

The Scaledrive.ai team is on a mission to develop a collection of AI models for road actors (such as pedestrians, car drivers, etc.), and they aim to develop an AI agent to be used in Autoware’s prediction module. This model will be developed utilizing Scaledrive.ai’s and Autoware’s datasets as a collaborative effort.

The Scaledrive.ai team plans to join the Software Working Group and will audit other relevant working groups, such as the Privately Owned Vehicles and Open AD Kit working groups.
