🎉 We are excited to announce that PopcornSAR has joined the Autoware Foundation as our newest Premium Member!
PopcornSAR brings deep experience at the intersection of Adaptive AUTOSAR, ROS 2, SDV APIs, agentic AI, and automotive software standardization, and plays an active role in building the next wave of open and interoperable mobility stacks.
🤝 Why They’re Joining
PopcornSAR has been closely collaborating with the broader open-source AD ecosystem — especially around SDV API efforts — and is joining the Foundation to serve as a technical bridge between global SDV standardization bodies and Autoware.
They share our belief in open collaboration, shared reference architectures, and global alignment across research, industry, and academia.
What They’ll Contribute
PopcornSAR enters the community with a concrete and ambitious contribution roadmap:
🔸They plan to open-source an integration of the OSDVI SDV API with the existing bridge between DDS ↔ SOME/IP, enabling Autoware to interoperate with widely used industry communication standards — an essential step for real-world vehicle deployment.
🔸Their team will work on enhancing Autoware’s DDS interfaces to comply with important standards such as ISO 23150 and ASAM OSI, enabling smoother communication with V2X systems, simulators, and future SDV platforms.
🔸Long-term, they plan to explore open-source contributions around LLM-based generative AI agents and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) research, collaborating with the community to advance next-generation autonomy.
🌍 Strengthening Global SDV Collaboration
PopcornSAR plays a central role in SDV standardization efforts in Asia and aims to help align Autoware with global standards bodies. Their participation strengthens our shared goal of creating a globally unified, open, and interoperable autonomous driving ecosystem.
🎤 Presence at EdgeTech+ 2025
PopcornSAR also joined us at the Autoware booth during EdgeTech+ 2025, showcasing an early demo of cross-domain ADAS–IVI integration. Using their AutoSAR.io and ParaBridge technologies, they enabled fully bidirectional communication between Autoware (ROS 2) and Adaptive AUTOSAR, real-time HMI data exchange, and a unified DDS/SOME-IP simulation environment for next-gen SDV architecture validation.
