NIT Academy, an organization with over 20 years of excellence in teaching, research, and engineering across industries such as computer engineering, consumer electronics, and automotive engineering, has joined the Autoware Foundation! ๐
Since 2020, NIT Academy has been developing formal training programs to support the growth of software-driven industries. The Academyโs primary mission is to help companies and individuals prepare for the challenges of high automation, artificial intelligence, safety, and securityโcritical elements for Industry 4.0, smart cities, and self-driving vehicles. NIT Academy has recognized the struggles companies face in adopting strict engineering quality standards and modern software frameworks and tools, and they have set out to address these issues head-on.
NIT Academy will collaborate closely with Autowareโs Safety Assurance Working Group to enhance the safety and reliability of Autoware software. The work on the Autoware-Defined Safety Model has just begun and will require strong collaboration across the Autoware community. NIT Academyโs contribution will be essential in upskilling Autoware contributors in automotive safety, standards, and certification, fostering more effective and cohesive collaboration. ๐ก๐ค
In addition to its focus on automotive safety, NIT Academy and the Autoware Foundation are exploring collaboration opportunities related to software-defined vehicles. NIT Academy has been working with automotive companies to help them navigate these concepts, and we are considering leveraging Autowareโs Open AD Kit project as a framework for these educational efforts.
We are delighted to welcome NIT Academy into the Autoware Foundation and look forward to collaborating with their academic and research teams to advance education, training, and knowledge-sharing in autonomous vehicles, vehicle safety, and software-defined vehicles. ๐
