🚀 The Autoware team is growing with experienced leaders! 🚀

We are happy to announce that Muhammad Zain Khawaja has joined the Autoware Foundation as a Senior Tech Lead to spearhead the development of Privately Owned Vehicle (PoV) autonomy, starting with a highway pilot system. 🛣️

Zain brings a wealth of autonomy experience accumulated from his prior experience at Oxa and his startup Propelmee, which still holds the record for the longest fully recorded autonomous drive in the UK. 🇬🇧🚗💨

Zain will drive the development of PoV autonomy based on #Autoware software and be instrumental in preparing Autoware for the prime time, ready to be used by #OEMs and #Tier1s in their autonomous vehicle development journey by lowering the entry barrier into the autonomous vehicle domain.

Autonomous vehicle development paradigms are not immune to changes in the automotive industry. Concepts like software-defined vehicles, AI-based development methodologies, foundation models, safety, and security must be melted into a pot, and a cohesive solution must be proposed to Autoware users. Zain will participate in these efforts and help the rest of the Autoware Foundation management and the Autoware community navigate these exciting ventures. 🌐🚘💡
