A leading automotive technology institute in Korea, KATECH, has joined the Autoware Foundation!

KATECH is established by the Korean government and companies to securing the self sustainability and fostering of of the Korean automotive industry. KATECH is working on developing an autonomous driving mobility service in Korea, using Autoware software.

KATECH leverages their deep expertise in AUTOSAR and Time Sensitive Networks (TSN) and they plan to contribute Autoware’s automotive quality processes through comparative evaluation with AUTOSAR.

KATECH team plans to join the Software Working Group to contribute the outstanding adjustments of Autoware to operate in traffic in Korea, as well as to contribute the discussion and implementation of finding a commonality in vehicle interface. The defining contribution from KATECH is to develop and contribute design technologies to ensure consistent real-time requirements for ROS2, and the interface within the vehicle (in-vehicle network).

We welcome KATECH to the Autoware Foundation and are excited to work with a partner equipped with deep know-how everything related to automotive technologies, and has deep integration with the automotive community and society in Korea.
