🎉 Welcoming CADA – Chemnitz Automated Driving Alliance to the Autoware Foundation!

We’re excited to announce that CADA — the Chemnitz Automated Driving Alliance has joined the Autoware Foundation as our newest Alliance Member! 🚀

CADA positions itself as an emerging ecosystem in Saxony, aiming to create practical, hands-on pathways into autonomous mobility for students, researchers, and young engineers. Their ambition is to foster a regional environment where talent can explore real autonomous vehicle platforms, experiment with software stacks, and engage with real-world challenges.

🤝 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

By joining the Autoware Foundation, CADA aims to:

✨ introduce students to global open-source autonomous driving software,

✨ build training opportunities that make use of Autoware-based systems,

✨ share insights and field experience collected from regional activities,

✨ and connect local talent with international open source communities.

Their intention is to strengthen the talent pipeline in their region while aligning with global, community-driven development.

🚀 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞

CADA is planning several initiatives for the coming years, which they envision will include:

🔧 student training programs involving real autonomous vehicle platforms,

🎓 university collaborations anchored around Autoware,

🚗 potential access to vehicle systems for research groups,

🌍 model-region deployments where students may participate in practical tasks,

🧪 workshops spanning perception, control, teleoperation, and ODD-focused engineering.

They will participate in Autoware Working Groups such as ODD, Simulation, and Low-Speed Autonomy, contributing experience from their broader network .

CADA expresses a long-term vision to help Saxony become one of the most attractive regions in Europe for young engineers interested in autonomous mobility — supported by real projects, real platforms, and real learning opportunities. They aspire to make Autoware part of this journey.
