ABD Solutions’ driving robotics offer autonomous developers, OEMs and end users a faster route to deploying autonomy across a broader range of vehicle types.

Our retrofittable robotic driving technology enables rapid deployment of autonomous or remote-controlled capabilities across new and legacy vehicle fleets—without the need for complex CAN integration or internal system modifications. Our robotic actuation systems complement developers’ existing CAN-based offerings, enabling them to scale faster and across a wider range of vehicle platforms, regardless of OEM.

Technology Description

ABD Solutions collaborates with Autoware members in offering highly reliable driving robotics – all designed to be easily retrofitted to any vehicle with a steering wheel and pedals within a few hours. 

Our driving robotics consist of actuators that physically control steering, clutch, brake, throttle and gearshift instead of CAN-based automation. The advantage of robotic control is that it enables the automation of any vehicle with a steering wheel and pedals, including those with mechanical linkages, and those with manual transmissions. Systems can be deployed in as little in a couple of hours and can be installed without permanent vehicle modification. 

Originally developed by AB Dynamics for driverless testing of conventional vehicles, our robotic technology is used by the world’s leading OEMs. Backed by over 40 years of automotive expertise, our robotic driving technology is used all of the world’s leading OEMs and has automated a wide range of vehicles including dump trucks, haul trucks, main battle tanks, tactical support vehicles, forklifts, steel carriers and tractors.
